Tischa van der Cammen was Professor of Autonomous Ageing (2015 - 2020) and now is em. prof. of Autonomous Ageing at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE), Department of Human-Centered Design, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Delft, NL. Main research interests are Design for Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia, Design for Falls Prevention, and Design for Integrated Care. Prior to joining IDE, Tischa van der Cammen was Head Divison of Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine, Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam. She has had numerous appointments including her role as Honorary Member of the Dutch Geriatrics Society and membership to the British Geriatrics Society. Tischa van der Cammen’s research interests and specializations include the fields of geriatrics, falls, and fall prevention. Falls are a major health care problem and a geriatric presentation of underlying disease. The research of Tischa is directed at determinants of falls in older persons, with the aim to identify the contribution of ageing, drugs, polypharmacy, and muscle atrophy to fall risk. Especially, reversibility of fall risk and prevention of further falls are areas of interest.
